We’ve all heard of goat yoga and puppy yoga, right? But have you ever heard of cat yoga? As a yoga teacher, I’ve made it my mission to explore the diverse yoga offerings across greater Seattle. Yet, I must confess, cat yoga never crossed my mind as part of that journey…
But lo and behold, here in Seattle’s own Meowtropolitan, you can now stretch alongside our feline friends. The location is a cat café by day but come 6 pm on Sundays, Tuesdays and Saturdays, the space transforms into an ad-hoc yoga studio surrounded with not one, not two, but over 20 adorable cats roaming around by I would say 20+ cats.
What can you expect? A 60-minute session similar to Hatha yoga, with about 10 students and a bunch of cats roaming around. But here’s the twist – as you flow through your poses, these furry friends will be frolicking around, occasionally joining in on the action. ! I mean, who wouldn’t want a cat chilling on their back during cat-cow pose, right? And yes, this really did happen.

And fear not, after all the stretching and meowing (yes, there will be plenty of adorable meows), you can stick around post-session to feed the cats their dinner at 7 pm.
Now, a word of advice from one Meowga enthusiast to another: watch your step! This isn’t the place for jump-back chaturangas, unless you want to accidentally step on a tail or two.
Oh, and did I mention that all this cat-tastic fun comes at just $24 a session? It’s an absolute steal for the amount of joy and relaxation you’ll get out of it.

And hey, if you’ve recently completed your yoga certification, what better way to celebrate than with your fellow yogi pals and some furry companions? As long as nobody’s allergic, it’s guaranteed to be a meow-nificent time! (wow that’s enough puns, right?)Curious to learn more or book your spot?
